About SG WildSight
Updated: 1 May 2026
The “View Location” feature has been removed.
Sightings now display only an approximate area to reduce disturbance and protect wildlife.
SG WildSight (short for SG Wildlife Sightings) is a community-powered platform for hikers in Singapore to share real-time wildlife encounters.
Whether it’s a colugo resting on a tree, a snake along the trail, or a rare bird sighting, this platform helps others experience the same moment you did.
Why we exist
Hiking is more exciting when you know what’s out there.
This platform was created to:
- Help hikers discover recent wildlife sightings
- Encourage appreciation of Singapore’s biodiversity
- Share meaningful moments in nature with others
Real-time & temporary
Wildlife doesn’t stay in one place forever.
That’s why sightings are:
- time-sensitive
- automatically removed after a period
So what you see is always recent and relevant.
Note:
Some sightings displayed may be example entries used to demonstrate the platform. These are labelled clearly and are not time-limited like regular submissions.
Community-driven
This platform relies on contributions from hikers like you.
Every upload helps:
- others explore more intentionally
- increase awareness of local wildlife
- build a shared hiking experience
Permissions & Privacy
Why do I need to enable location and camera permissions on my device browser?
Because this app runs on web technology, it uses your browser to access features like location and camera.
These permissions are only required when submitting sightings or uploading photos. We only access them when you use these features, never in the background.
